Your A/C low-pressure switch monitors the pressure on the low side of the refrigeration system. If pressure drops below a safe level, it can shut down the system to help protect the compressor and other major components.

The switch should never be bypassed. A licensed HVAC technician should inspect the complete system and identify the condition causing the pressure to drop.
