In Houston’s spring humidity, your A/C pulls a lot of moisture from the air. That water drains into the pan and out through the drain line. When the drain starts to clog, the float switch (safety switch) is designed to shut the system off before water overflows and causes damage.
✅ Why the float switch matters:
• Helps prevent ceiling stains and drywall damage
• Protects attic/closet installations from overflow

• Gives an early warning when the drain line is starting to back up
⚠️ Signs your float switch may be tripping:
