🌸💧 SPRING WARNING: Don’t Ignore Your A/C Float Switch! 💧🌸

Your float switch (safety switch) is there to protect your home. When the drain line backs up and water starts rising in the pan, the float switch shuts the system off to help prevent overflow and water damage—especially important in Houston’s humid spring and summer.

✅ Why the float switch matters:
• Helps prevent ceiling stains and drywall damage
• Protects attic/closet areas from overflow
• Stops the system before mold and musty odors start
• Warns you early that the drain line may be clogging

⚠️ Common signs the float switch is tripping:
• A/C turns on then shuts off
• System won’t stay running in COOL
• Musty smell near the indoor unit
• Water in the drain pan or around the unit
• You keep having to “reset” the system

🚫 Important: Never bypass the float switch. If it’s tripping, there’s usually a drain issue that needs to be fixed.

🧰 During a spring check-up we inspect the drain pan and drain line, clear clogs, and test the float switch to confirm proper protection.
